Final Equilibrium is one of the oldest World of Warcraft High End raiding guilds on Aggramar(EU). Our main focus is high end raiding.
You will find us to have a very friendly atmosphere although we are very focused while raiding. While not raiding you can find our members having fun. Running lower level instances with mains and alts as well as pvp’ing are a few of the more popular activities of our members during off time. Our members tend to be very loyal. Some have been in the guild since the start and our motto is “Once FE always FE”.
Final Equilibrium does not have many rules and most of the rules that we do have should be common sense. What we do have is a strong code of conduct. When you are tagged with the Final Equilibrium name everything you do in or out of raids on the server can and will be linked back to us as a whole.
Ranks within the guildRecruitWhen recruits are invited into Final Equilibrium they start out with the rank of recruit. The recruit period normally lasts anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 weeks. After a week or so an officer will contact the recruit to see how they are doing and give them an idea of how they are doing in the guilds eyes. During this time they should try to make as many raids as possible. Our policy for members and recruits is to raid a min of 3 nights a week. A recruit may not get into 3 raids a week but they will still get attendance for showing up, even if there class / spec isn’t needed that night. Recruits should try and be social in the guild join some off hour pug runs so that they can get to know our members and our members can get to know them. A recruit can be removed from the guild at anytime should an officer hear any major complaints about performance or attitude. During the recruit period a recruit will earn EP which can be used to get some gear just like members. Once the recruit period has been successfully completed the recruit will promoted to member, their forum account will be upgraded giving them access to see new applications and comment on the progress of current recruits. If the officers have decided that the recruit has failed their recruit trial period they will be contacted by an officer who will discuss with them why they have failed recruit status and they will be asked to leave the guild at that time.
Retired
The Retired rank is for people who do not raid. The reasons for becoming retired rank may be RL issues which prevent the member from making the min 3 nights a week raiding. A long standing member of FE who has recently returned to the game may also be set to retired rank. If a retired member wants to start raiding again depending on how long they have been at retired rank, they will be asked to re-apply to the guild for a raid spot. This is merely to ensure that the retiree has the gear / spec / class that the guild needs for raiding at this time. If the retiree does not meet the needs of the guild they may stay at retired rank or re-apply when these things change. On occasion if we are low on DPS and a retiree meets the gear / spec / class needs for a raid they may join the raid and will earn and be able to use EP just like any other member.
A member demoted to retired rank will not have their EP removed. There EP will decay weekly like it does for members so you will not return with the same amount of EP as you had when you left.
Member
Members are the core life blood of FE. It’s the members that keep FE moving towards its goals.
As a member there are some things that are expected of you.
You are expected to know and follow all the rules of the guild.
1. If a member is not going to be raiding that night they are expected post it on the forums. 2. Members must raid a min of 3 nights a week. 3. If a member is going to be AFK for any reason during a raid they must inform an officer or the raid leader beforehand. NO ninja AFK’s! 4. Members must be prepared for raids (pots flasks food). 5. Members must be outside the raid instance before invites. 6. Members gear and spec should be the best available for their class role, spec and build. EX: (gems, enchants, and glyphs) 7. Focus during raids is very important. 8. Members should be open to suggestions from their class members and officers. If there is something a member could do to improve their raid performance they are expected to do this.
There may come a time where a member has an issue with officer decisions, another member or many other things. If a member has an issue with an officer’s decision they should contact the officers or the GM. While the officers will listen to a members opinion and occasionally act on it but in the end members are expected end to support the officer’s decision. Officers are here to help us reach our goals. Sometimes we may not all get along; officers are here to help smoothen issues over between members. If a member has a problem with another member contact an officer or the GM tell them about the problem and allow them to address it.
There may come a time when an officer is forced to speak to a member about an issue. There can be many reasons for this attendance, attitude, spec, breaching of guild rules. Depending on how serious the matter is you will be given the chance to improve or change. Depending on how serious the offence is a member may be given an official warning and given a set amount of time to improve, normally a week. If there is no improvement or depending on how serious the offence is the member may be asked to leave the guild.
Officers
The officer rank is for members who perform specific tasks needed for the guild to run efficiently. Some of these tasks include Raid leading, Master looter (running of EPGP, uploading combatlog), world of logs, dkp backup attendance, webmaster upgrading forums and website, posting new boss kills to website wow wiki and realm forums. There must be at least one officer in a raid able to deal with leading it and ML.
Guild Master
Guild master is a special rank with in FE. A guild master may not be what you are used to from other guilds. The guild master of FE is not a dictator, far from it. The job of the guild master is to keep FE focused on its goals as well as be a secretary. The GM makes sure that all admin tasks are completed enabling members to do what they want to do most raids and do it to the best of their ability. In a lot of ways the GM is a glorified secretary.
The gm has a vote in all decisions like any officer. The gm does technically have veto right but this is not something that will often be used. The gm’s task in the end is to be totally sure that FE is focused on its goals.
We have found that being the GM is a hard job and takes up a lot of time. The gm must always be available to every recruit, member and officer, to listen and help solve any issues. Due to the amount of time it takes we have found that our GM’s tend to burn out if they raid full time and deal with keeping us on track. Therefore you may find that our GM does not have the raid attendance that is required of other members. But rest assured that the officers keep the GM informed about raid progress, member progress during and after each raid. You are being watched. :)
Guild rulesAFK / vacations / RL fights back
If you are not going to be online for a raid you must post on the forums that you will not be there and if possible a reason. (no you don’t need a note from mom).
If you don’t raid more than a month without informing us as to why you are not raiding an officer will try to contact you via in game mail and or PM on the forums. If we still don’t hear from you we will consider that you have retired and you will be set to that rank. If you have given us a reason for being AFK then you are given 1.5 months in total to return to raiding before you are then set to retired. This is due to the fact that after 1.5 months of not raiding depending on progress your gear may not be up to the instance / boss we are currently on.
ForumsWhen a recruit is invited into FE they will be asked to create a forum account at fe.wowportal.dk\forums. They will need to be approved by a forum admin most likely one of the officers. An activation email is not sent to the recruit. The account must be activated by the forum admin. The first thing you should read is the new recruit thread. This will give you all the information about what you need to do to get ventrilo access, what add-ons you need for raids, what officer runs what and other things that you may need to know. All members must check the forums on a daily basis. This does not take very long, and will ensure that you are up-to-date on any relevant events happening in the guild.
Tactics
You are expected to know the tactics for boss kills and one or two bosses ahead in order to be prepared. There are lots of sites that give information on boss kills. Read up, know your stuff.
Gems – enchants – pots / flasks – foodMembers need to be at their best for raids. This means having their gear at its best. This means the best gems and enchants you can get, and repaired. (Members should be exalted with the shoulder and helm enchant NPC’s for there class).
Everyone needs to have enough pots flasks and/or food to last a full 4 hour raid. Asking someone to loan you some should be considered a loan and must be repaid. You can also not assume that the guild will supply fish feasts all the time. We do most of the time but sometimes we run out and you need to be sure you have enough to cover yourself.
Talents – spec – glyphs
FE is a raiding guild you are expected to have a raiding spec. This means no pvp talents and the best raiding build for your class. Not something you just patched together. Your class mates can bring to your attention or to the attention of the officers any issues with you ( gear, spec, …) if there is something wrong with your spec or a way to improve your performance. You are expected to be open to this. We all want to down these bosses and to do that we must to be at our best.
Off spec is yours. Of course if you have an off-spec with gear that is raid viable make sure that the officers know this so if we are ever short on that spec we may ask you to use that instead. (Example: healer going dps)
Ventrilo
When a recruit joins the guild they will be given a ventrilo account. Members are expected to be on ventrilo in the raid channel at all times during raids. During boss fights only the raid leaders or those asked to by raid leaders should be speaking. This is to keep ventrilo clear. Only raid leaders and officers call for wipes.
While we don’t require that you have a mic or speak on ventrilo, we still do advice you to have one and can use it when needed. It’s a lot easier to hear “Dispel X, I have the debuff” then it is to read it during a boss encounter. Your chances of getting a dispell will go up greatly. Mic’s are cheap these days, get one please. :)
Code of conductRaids
During raids you are expected to be focused. No ninja AFK’ing. If someone makes a mistake let the officers address it. Yelling at them on ventrilo or in raid / guild chat is not acceptable. Only officers call for wipes and only officers can call end of raid. During boss attempts or while things are being sorted keep ventrilo clear so officers and those asked to should be the only ones speaking.
Outside of the guild
While you are pvping or puging instances please remember that your behavior reflects back on us all. Ninja looting, cheating people … will reflect badly on us all and could have bad consequences for your career in FE.
